How to use this tool

Enter file size in decimal GB and connection speed in megabits per second. If a downloader shows MB/s, multiply that value by eight to get the Mbps input.

How the calculation works

Ideal seconds = file size in GB × 8,000 ÷ connection speed in Mbps

Example

A 25 GB game on a 100 Mbps connection takes about 33 minutes under ideal conditions.

Read the result without overestimating it

The result excludes installation and assumes a constant transfer rate. Compare the ideal result with a lower measured speed to plan around Wi-Fi congestion or a slow content server.
