Gaming time may be recorded as minutes, decimal hours, or a count of sessions. Converting these into the same unit helps you compare a week, estimate a session total, or plan time for a game. The playtime calculator has separate modes for direct conversion, sessions, and a weekly plan.

Convert minutes to hours
Divide total minutes by 60. A total of 150 minutes is 2.5 hours, meaning two hours and thirty minutes. A total of 125 minutes is approximately 2.08 decimal hours, or exactly two hours and five minutes.
Decimal hours are fractions of an hour, not a clock display. For example, 1.5 hours is ninety minutes, not one hour and five minutes. Keep the unrounded value for further calculations; round only the result you show.
- Minutes → hours: divide by 60.
- Hours → minutes: multiply by 60.
- For hours and minutes, multiply the fractional hour by 60.
Convert hours back to minutes
Multiply a decimal-hour total by 60. For example, 2.75 hours becomes 165 minutes, or two hours and forty-five minutes. In Convert time mode, editing Minutes updates Hours, and editing Hours updates Minutes.
If a source records hours and minutes separately, combine them first. Two hours and ten minutes is 2 × 60 + 10 = 130 minutes. Entering 2.10 as decimal hours would instead mean 126 minutes.
Estimate time from gaming sessions
Multiply sessions by average minutes per session, then divide by 60. Eight sessions averaging twelve minutes total 96 minutes, or 1.6 hours. Use Sessions mode when a count and a meaningful average are what you have.
If session lengths vary substantially, adding individual durations is more accurate than guessing an average. Use sessions from the same reporting period and decide whether loading screens, menus, or idle time belong in the total.
Build a weekly gaming plan
Multiply gaming days per week × sessions per gaming day × minutes per session. Five gaming days with two twenty-five-minute sessions each total 250 minutes per week. That is four hours and ten minutes, or about 4.17 decimal hours.
Weekly plan mode allows zero to seven gaming days. Sessions per gaming day refers only to those days; days you do not play are already excluded. If schedules differ across days, calculate groups of similar days separately and add their minute totals.
- Example: 5 × 2 × 25 = 250 minutes.
- 250 ÷ 60 ≈ 4.17 decimal hours.
- A plan describes your entered schedule, not a measured activity record.
Compare the same reporting period
Lifetime playtime is not directly comparable with a weekly plan. Choose the same dates, the same game or group of games, and the same definition of counted time before comparing two totals.
The calculator does not access your account or device. It cannot recover missing platform playtime. Use a known minute total or a clearly labeled session estimate instead.
- Separate measured time from planned time.
- Label whether a total covers one game or several.
- Avoid rounding every session before adding the total.
